Suzanne Scott has developed a reputation for her unique approach to Pilates. Training originally with Alan Herdman in London and Moira Stott in Toronto, she now specialises in applying a Pilates focus to areas such as elite sports and rehabilitation. She has worked with professional sports people as well as beginners who wish to enhance their flexibility. She established her Somerset studio in 1996 and now runs successful training programmes for the Pilates Foundation UK for both Pilates teachers and physiotherapists

Pilates is popular and effective because it works out the entire body, keeping you supple and strong. The principles of the system are beautifully outlined here, with details on posture, breathing and other techniques you need to train safely. Each exercise will help you in so many ways: even the simple half cat with ankle stretch increases flexibility and generates core strength.

Develop your body and mind as you perform Pilates. It’s a complete workout because you’re never just tightening one area, stretching another or powering your way through a series of reps. Each movement requires your full concentration as you train yourself to control your alignment and target your body’s deeper, stabilizing muscles. The book includes beginner, intermediate and advanced exercises.
